Buisness as Usual

Surrounded by white rooms, white walls,
white robes, white halls.
Everywhere men and women, with supposed higher education;
Everyone does what they do without even a question.
People’s lives just fluttering in the air,
this place is therefore of great despair.
As lives hang in the balance, struggling to survive,
you know you’re not done yet, you’re still alive.
The man in the white robe tells you,
 all is alright,

but you know deep inside,

that he’s got something to hide.
After one visit comes, two, then three, and four,

you’re tripping out, trying to grasp the floor.

They steal your blood, and offer a vaccination;

here take this it’s a preventative implantation.

Procedures for which you have yet to suffer for,

if it weren’t for the reason you were here, you probably would have ignored.

They take and they take they always want more,

treating you like a two dollar whore.

They poke and they prod, they just want your insides,

that’s what you say to yourself, they just want my red stuff,

without it i am dead.

And without these men with education,

who deliver news which causes frustration.

Let you know everything is al-right,

after telling you "you should write a will, tonight".
Maybe its good that they are there, you feel more alive,

knowing you have 20 instead of 5,

left to survive.

But hope still remains, and its always the same,

playing on the breakthroughs and the money game.

Lives hang in the balance, while showing a facade.

People on their knees praying for god.

While others pack them up and ship them away,
today, tomorrow, people die everyday.

Others are burnt and scattered on earth,

to give the ones living a brand new birth.

An attempt at a new, an attempt at what's right.

But all you see is pillaging, murder, and useless fight.

  1. You're extremely talented!
This is your work, correct? It's really good, and has a great flow.

You should write more on technology, especially because of our course. Other than that, it's refreshing to see some 'traditonal' poetry, especially when we keep seeing all these new strange 'modern' forms of poetry.

    Great work!

  2. I m in love with this poem after reading it. It has a great flow and some great meanings. The way you have put up the words and formed them in verses is really great. I m happy that one of classmates is a very good poet. You have brought up the lives of human beings and their sufferings while they are here on earth. The life in hospital would be a challenge for anyone because they are called patients. Once you get admitted into a ward, you are there all 24 hours lying on bed, thinking or worrying about what is coming tomorrow for you. You would understand the meaning of desperate without a dictionary telling you. You are called a patient because you are the one who is, or who has to, or who must need to go through the procedures "patiently". But at the end, if you have some luck, you would be released as a free man. If you dont have luck, you would be released from earth, as a "really" free man, but you can put it either you are too lucky to leave the world or too unfortunate to die. Its up to you.
